From M6

Leave the M6 at junction 36
Follow the signs to the South Lakes, Kendal and Barrow (A590)
Keep on the A590 for 18 miles
Turn right towards Workington (A5092), 2 miles further turn right toward Coniston (A5084)
After going past the Land Rover garage on the left arrive at T-junction (Wilson Arms Pub opposite)
Turn left towards Broughton (A593) and immediately turn right (as if you are turning into the pub car park), Ash Gill Cottages are on the left
